On Friday police in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, found Jennifer Taylor, the executive director at Albuquerque’s Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum, dead in a local hotel. Police said that her death is being investigated, but that there are no indications of foul play, according to local station KQRE. She had been at the head of the museum since 2005.
“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our executive director Jennifer Taylor,” the museum said in a statement on its website and Facebook page. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. She provided so much to the Balloon Museum and Foundation and ballooning community through her contributions, spirit and memorable smile.”
This year’s edition of the Albbuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which, with some 750 balloons, is the world’s biggest hot air balloon gathering, is slated for October 5-13.
