Will the Only Copy of New Wu-Tang Clan Album Sell For Millions?

2015-01-09 08:33:24 未知

Are you a deep-pocketed hip-hop aficionado ready to blow millions of dollars on the most exclusive album ever? Your time is drawing near. Almost a year ago, the Wu-Tang Clan—the legendary rap collective hailing from Staten Island and comprising RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, Cappadonna and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard—announced that they had secretly recorded a double album titled The Wu—Once Upon a Time In Shaolin, and that the only existing copy would be up for sale. In an interview with Forbes, Master RZA has now disclosed that online auctioneers Paddle8 will manage the transaction.

The auction company, founded in 2011 by Harvard Business School grad Aditya Julka and former LVMH executive Alexander Gilkes, will work closely with Wu-Tang Clan to seek potential buyers and find the best fit before closing the sale privately. RZA confirmed last April that the group had already been offered $5 million, so it's safe to say the price tag for this unique item will end up north of that.

RZA told Forbes that the album "should be and is considered modern art." The album is currently locked away in an ornate silver box in Marrakech.
