Art-O-Rama 2016 Brings Art Collectors to the South of France

Art-O-Rama international contemporary art fair returned to the Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille for its 10th anniversary edition in 2016 from August 26 to 28 with an exclusive selection of 20 of the world’s most active and avant-garde galleries as well as 2 non-profit projects and 7 publishers.
This year’s fair once again attracted buyers, collectors, and art lovers from around Europe and as far away as America, continuing its aim of fostering meetings between contemporary art world identities within an intimate boutique format.
Art-O-Rama was founded in 2007 as the first international art fair in the South of France. The fair’s unique format considers the booths as separate exhibition spaces, which each gallery designs and curates according to their own specific presentation.
As invited non-profit guests of Art-O-Rama 2016, Barcelona-based non-profit collective The Green Parrot showcased the work of David Bestué and June Crespo while Bari-based 63rd-77th STEPS - Art Project Staircase is presented an exhibition of beach towels designed by 25 international artists.
The Art-O-Rama 2016 Guest Artist Rafaela Lopez was supported with a production grant for her site-specific project and her first ever monograph. Lopez was the laureate of last year’s curated Show Room section, which was this year curated by Graz-based Italian curator Luigi Fassi.
The Show Room section showcases the work of 4 recent graduates of one of the Fine Art Schools of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region. This year’s Show Room features Jeanne Berbinau Aubry, Jean-Loup Faurat, Sabrina Belouaar, and Clémentine Roche.
The professional days of this year’s fair are over, but the exhibition continues until September 11
