The Fourth China International Gallery Exposition will be held in China World Trade Center in Beijing from May 2nd to 6th,2007.Supported by the Ministry of Culture of The People’s Republic of China, The Fourth Edition of The China International Gallery Exposition (CIGE 2007) will take place on May 2 to 6, 2007, in the Exhibition Hall of The China World Trade Center, Beijing, China.CIGE was launched in Beijing in 2004, on the purpose of "Internationalism, Professionalism and Futurism", exhibiting galleries and art dealers. After three editions CIGE has become the most important art platforms in China and the leading art fair in Asia. In 2007 120 outstanding galleries from everywhere in the world will take part to CIGE, presenting a great panorama of cutting edge contemporary art as well as international and Chinese masterpieces.CIGE 2007 will increase the available exhibition space. The first and second floor of the Exhibition Hall in The China World Trade Centre will be reserved to the participant galleries for a total exhibition area of around 13,000 square meters.CIGE 2007 will invite renowned international curators and artists to join exciting art events and venues together with art gallery directors and dealers, collectors, critics and art lovers. CIGE 2007 projects include the Gallery Exhibition, the Special Exhibition, the International Laboratory Forum of Multi-media Art, conferences, meetings and many other activities inside and outside of the China World Trade Center. The Special Exhibition500 square meters on the 2nd floor of the Exhibition Hall will show special art projects. Renowned international curators invited by the Organizing Committee will select six internationally leading artists to present their works reflecting on a common exhibition theme. The International Laboratory Forum of Multi-media ArtA video room on the second floor of the Exhibition Hall will host a four-day video project displaying video art, movies, and documentaries with the extraordinary participation of artists, filmmakers and video experts.Art Forum Artists, art collectors, curators, art museum directors as well as media and government representatives will be invited to The China World Trade Centre Conference Room to hold panels and lectures on different themes related to art. CIGE 2007 art projects will be accompanied by the numerous art events and venues taking place in Beijing in the beginning of May: from the exhibitions at 798 art district to the Spring art auctions.
