2007-08-13 09:06:06 未知
More than 1,000 years ago Greek artistic influences trickled into western China via the Silk Road, and left their mark in the famed frescoes at Dunhuang. This exhibition gives Beijing residents the chance to see some Greek originals. The selection, on loan from the Louvre, includes pieces dating as far back as 500BC. It covers three areas: “Life in Ancient Greece” features pottery; “Ancient Greek Religion” includes sculptures based on Greek myths; and “Great Figures from Ancient Greece” offers sculptures of Plato, Aristotle and Socrates. The curator of Capital Museum said:"This is a uncommon chance to Chinese peole."The exhibition opens on August 12th-November 9th 2007 at Capital Museum.
