The exhibition commemorates the achievement of Wang Zhaomin at National Art Musume of China on 11th-17th Aug, and at Guangdong Museum of Art on 25th Aug-9th Sept.Wang Zhaomin absorbed the advantages of both Chinese and Western art forms and techniques. His work is one of the millestones which indicate a real maturity of Western Realism in painting after more than 100 years development.His paintings are with innate astounding power.His work forms a distinct artistic style integrating the touches of traditional Chinese painting, colors of oil painting, the strong foundations of pencil sketching, unique artistic ideas and a temperament that demanded execellence. His works have had a far-reaching influence on Chinese watercolor paintings and the history of art in contemporary China. Wang's watercolor works, especially his still-lifes, are simple, unadorned and elegant. His watercolors perfectly combine the beauty of representational and abstract concepts. Integrated with the colors of Western modern art and the touches of Chinese traditional painting, his works have a surprisingly elegant and rich artistic effect, developing a new realm in the field of watercolor art.Wang Zhaomin's work seem to be telling us that all arguments about how to paint are unhelpful since none of those geniue masterpieces in history has anything to do with its media and subject.He conveyed an idea to the tumultuous contemporary art circle through his paintings: to paint for sake of the essence of painting.
