Tradition and culture, are at the heart of the Western China Culture Expo. It opened Saturday in Hohhot in Inner Mongolia. The program is big and supported by a long list of organizers including China's Ministry of Culture, the State Administration for Radio, Film and Television; the General Administration for Press and Publication, and twelve provinces in western China. Folk art performances, cultural Heritage projects, promotions, forums, lectures and a cartoon competition are all part of the Culture Expo. More than two hundred products and projects involved in the cultural industry signed on. The combined value of the participating agencies is 20-billion yuan, or about 2.5 billion U.S. dollars.
