ShContemporary, the new exclusive Asia Pacific contemporary art fair, will open in Shanghai Exhibition Center from 6 Sep to 9 Sep. On 24 Aug, the organizer held a press conference in Beijing. Pierre Huber, the creative director of the fair said in the conference that this year is just a new start , they have a long way to go.This is a five years’ programAs the old saying goes, ”Rome was not built in a day”, the organizer of the first international art fair seems to have great confidence and a long plan for this fair. From the preparing to the upcoming opening, all the members devoted themselves deeply into it. “I spent a lot of time in different countries all over the world, and I visit so many museums, galleries and collectors to find the richest of every country.” Pierre said, ”This fair is a five years’ program.”Not another, But a new one!This year, ShContemporary will welcome a selection of approximately 130 galleries, almost half of them coming from Asia Pacific. So it can be treated as a dialogue between the West and the East. In the art fair blooming world, director Lorenzo Rudolf believes that this fair is “not another, but a new one”. He stressed in the conference that there are no good platform for Asia art now, this fair does not only show the artworks of China, but also India, Pakistan and Thailand, such international platform will definitely speed up the development of Asian Art and the creation sprit of artists; for visitors, the “best sellers” are not the only kind of works this fair provided, they can also stop and see the high-quality works of emerging Asian artists that are not well- known in the art market. Divided in to three sections (best of galleries, best of artists and best of discovery) , ShContemporary will offer a unique platform for networking the best galleries, dealers, artists, collectors, professionals and art enthusiasts from all around the world. The fair would develop and stimulate existing and emerging markets, enabling new interaction and exchange between the Asian and the Western art scene.
