Ancient Architect´s Plans Put on Display at the National Library of China

Plans and blue prints drafted by China's greatest builders of the Qing Dynasty are being on show at the National Library of China. The exhibition contains more than 300 exhibits of the Imperial architects of the Dynasty.The plans were drawn by members of the Lei clan, long known for its architectural vision and proficiency. During the Qing Dynasty, over a period of about 300 years, the family held responsibility for design and construction for the imperial court of China. Among the family's works are the Summer Palace. There are a number of buildings at the Altar of Heaven and the Chengde Summer Resort. Nearly 98 percent of the items showcased are on public view for the first time.
