Folk artists from 19 cities in east China came together presenting a fascinating tale of China, executed with exquisite craftsmanship. The handicraft exhibition is one of the region's efforts to promote local intangible cultural heritage.Nearly 40 folk artists from 19 cities in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai gathered in Zhenjiang city, where the tragedy of the "White Snake Tale" took place. They brought the tragic love story to life with their delicate sculpture, paper cutting, embroidery and bamboo carving. Over twenty of the crafts are listed among China's intangible cultural heritage. So is the tale itself.The exhibition is another collective effort among folk artists of the area. The exhibition of folk arts started two years ago.
