Red Gate Gallery will hold its 6th annual Calendar of Contemporary Printmaking show on Saturday, November 24, 2007. Proceeds from calendar sales will be donated to the Shepherd’s Field Children’s Village, a project of the Philip Hayden Foundation.Artist Zhou Jirong is organizing the works of art: seven original prints with the theme of athletics, acknowledging Beijing’s hosting of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. The participating artists are Chen Qi, He Kun, Song Guangzhi, Su Xinping, Tang Chenghua, Zhang Guanghui and Zhou Jirong.The calendars with the seven frameable prints are in editions of 50, and each calendar is priced at RMB 4,888.00 (approximately US$650.00). Shepherd’s Field Children’s Village will receive 60% of the total proceeds with the remaining 40% covering production costs. The fundraising target is US$19,500.00.
