Some of China's top folk artists have brought their best works to Putian, a city in east China's Fujian Province. They're wowing visitors to the 6th Straits Art Expo, featuring the delicate handicrafts of embroidery, sculpture and bamboo painting. This sparkling folding screen is similar to the extreme luxury and delicacy of a royal handicraft. 400 thousand meters of golden thread was used to embroider this dragon pattern on a piece of transparent silk cloth. A visitor said, "It is just incredibly beautiful. The color, the pattern and the highly-refined technique everything works perfectly with each other." This "bronze" vessel could be easily mistaken for an antique from a museum. But actually it is made of pottery. Modern technology gives it a sheen exactly the same as bronze. It has taken workers and experts 13 months to finish it. This year's Expo is welcoming over 1,000 exhibitors from China, Myanmar and Vietnam. The five-day event features forums, painting auctions, photo exhibitions and a gourmet festival.
