First-Class Chinese Paintings Go on Display

Ten distinguished painters from central China put their works on display in an exhibition opened in Beijing on Thursday.Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the exhibition.On display are 62 Chinese paintings painted by 10 young and mid-aged painters from central Hubei province. It is the 12th in the series of a contemporary Chinese painting exhibition, which was first held in 2002."Holding such exhibitions demonstrates that Chinese authorities value very much traditional culture," said CPPCC vice chairman Zhang Siqing at the exhibition.
