In an age of integration of Chinese and Western culture, the six- year old Together We Go Art Association sticks to its idea with realism spirit - focusing on nature and Chinese folk-custom. This exhibition is one of the 3 held since this group was set up 5 years ago. Like the previous exhibitions, this one shows a selection of best works done in this year and it’s offered to the public for comment. Like the 2 previous showings, this one stands for the group’s understanding of important oil painting as it is now. And as such, the exhibition represents an attempt to sort out their ideas of the new language oil painting of rural life.In the past 6 years, they have been trying to look at rural life in north China from a new perspective in order to create a new style in painting life in the countryside. This group, along with other artists, have been working conscientiously to explore the inner meaning of oil painting.The works of artists, born in the 1960s, reflect the characteristics of the age in which they were born and grew up. They are united by the age-old faith in gaining a common goal in different approaches. Their realism based on their experience show the world as they see it. Their works, done in a new artistic language, give the rural scenery a new graphic image. Their ultimate aim is for man to return to nature, battling greed, consumerism and hedonism. In the spirit of realistic painting, they devote their works to rural themes and their effort to become an independent group of painters. As a new group of painter, they may be taken as forerunners in contemporary Chinese painting.The exhibition opens on December 1th-15th,2007 at National Art Museum of China.
