Mr. Liang Yongtai (1921-1956), a prominent Chinese woodcut painter, grew up during the Anti-Japanese War period. Mr. Liang was very fond of painting in his childhood, and was known as the wonder child despite the fact that he had no formal training of painting from any teachers. Long periods of painting creation made his works gradually take on noble manners and the smooth use of the scorper artistry is the outstanding and unique style of his woodcut painting works. His five sons and daughters have all achieved certain success in the various fields of art. This exhibition will display most of the works by Mr. Liang Yongtai created from the Anti-Japanese War period until his death and some paintings of his four sons and daughters, for the purpose of commemorating this brilliant Chinese woodcut painter who died young. The exhibition opens on 2007-12-21~2008-01-06 at Guangdong Museum of Art.
