Following the opening of the Moon River Cutural Creative Industry Zone by the Beijing Cultural Development International Exchange Centre, Group Joy, Animamix Today, Animamix Net, Gao Xiaowu & Liu Xiaoyin Studio and Duo-Art Studio, an exciting new event entitled “Animamix Hyperlink” will be unveiled on December 23rd. Curated by Victoria Lu, the newly appointed Director of Moon River Museum of Contemporary Art, the event is a combination of exhibition and performance, and will serve as a warming-up party for the museum and the art club hotel, which will open next year. For the opening ceremony of “Animamix Hyperlink,” the museum will proudly display a large-scale outdoor installation by Du Zhenjun, a famous Chinese artist based in France, on loan from the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation. Entitled “Fireball,” the installation will be ignited by the audience and will produce a magnificent view of virtual fire and cloud. The Animamix (Animamix=Animation+Comics) exhibition series was initially conceived in 2004 and is part of Victoria Lu’s on-going research project. After the Fiction.Love exhibition at Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art in 2004, Victoria Lu has come up with the new aesthetic concept of Animamix, and has sent her exhibition on tour to Hangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai. After several revisions, the exhibition was also taken to Singapore, Korea and two cities in France. This year, it returned to Taipei after three years and ten revisions. In each new version, the content of the exhibition has evolved. Like an organic being, the nature of its growth is change, and only through change is growth possible.The popularity of Animamix art has given birth to a new cultural industry that is prospering in many regions throughout Asia. The heterogeneity of forms and ideas in Animamix art is deeply rooted in Asian culture and can therefore be seen as an original invention or a prototype of the latest artistic direction that is quickly spreading throughout the world with the help of the digital environment. In other words, Animamix Art has become one of the most important sources of inspiration for the global art scene in the new century. “Animamix Hyperlink” at the Moon River Cultural Creative Industry Zone will feature 50+ artists’ works at Group Joy Space (led by Dr. Zhang Xiaodong) and the art-inspired Moon River Intech Wellness Center. “Animamix Hyperlink” will present a cross-genre exhibition of original Animamix art and performance as well as a series of related lectures. In the future, the Moon River Cultural Creative Industry Zone will further combine Moon River Health Resort Spa, integrating art into well-being, ecology, technology, travel, conference and culture. Infused with new creative energy, “Moon River” will establish itself as an aesthetic brand created by the Chinese, and will attract the attention of the world by introducing a Chinese model of the creative industry to the global platform of cultural exchange.
