For this Documenta, we have selected some most excellent works of a group of outstanding artists from Xi’an Textile City Arts District. Xi’an Textile City Art District and Beijing 798 Art District both were originally industrial zones constructed by the aid of “Old Brother” Soviet Union, and reshaped to arts districts now. They have same memories, and the same collective subconscious to be exchanged in terms of the contexts of arts district. I tend to design the exhibition hall to the inner space of a sub(conscious)marine.Taking Beatles old song, Back in the USSR, as the theme actually forces us to face the western influence/vision reflected in today’s 798. By today Xi’an Documenta has held three times, It is too early for now to report, I want to take this as an opportunity to give a brief introduction of the artists in A zone, and would like to add their involvement in the Textile City arts district and Xi’an Documenta.The exhibition opens at FUN ART SPACE on 2007.12.18 - 2008.02.30.
