Easel Painting is executed on a portable support such as a panel or canvas. It is a kind of visual expression through artists' manual labor revealing their ideas and emotions. As the political, economic and cultural center of Southwest China, Chengdu City in Sichuan Province has developed as a city of art and leisure. Since the 1990s, Chengdu's easel painting has transformed its styles from rural to metropolitan and later to the features of personal experience. The exhibition will display the works of representative Chengdu artists, trying to reveal the history and current development of the region in easel painting at Fei Gallery at 2007-12-30~2008-01-17.
