Utopia is about mind, spirit, dream, image，imagination and desire, encompassed in the past, present and future… Utopia is not only a counteraction of reality, but also another way to depict how human history was created.In the spiritual life of the Chinese people today, utopia is already dead including all the introspection about it. We lost the right and capability to discover “utopia” and even to contemplate it’s core values.If a gleam of utopia’s remaining ambiance still exists in our time, it would only have to do with the material desires of the Utopian style. The border of utopia clearly defines at where our desires could reach. It has nothing to do with one’s spirit but begins with desire and ends with desire - it’s so concrete! So attainable! It has a border and highlights it, and this is exactly what we focus on in this exhibition.Through different art forms: installation, sculpture and video, the ten participating artists address this very subject with their work and give an explanation and extension to it’s existence.The exhibition opens on 12th - 24th January, 2008 at Beijing Today Art Museum.
