Over fifty Chinese national treasures have gone on display at Chongqing's Three Gorges Museum. It's the first large scale exhibition of relics held in Chongqing Municipality. The two-month long exhibition opened Tuesday. The more than fifty relics are on loan from China's National Museum. All of them are among the most highly treasured Chinese relics. They include bronze, pottery, jade, gold or silver ware. Two of the most precious artifacts in the display are the "Four Sheep Square Wine Vessel" from the Shang dynasty, and the "Jade Clothes" from the Han dynasty. Many of the relics are more than two thousand years old.The Three Gorges Museum has been added to the list of China's cultural facilities to which admission is free. However, because of the high cost of insurance for these national treasures, the exhibition DOES have a minimum entrance fee.Dai Yuhua, dir. of Admin. Office, Chongqing's Three Gorges Museum, said, "We've set a very low price for visitors, of twenty yuan per person. And older people, soldiers, the disabled and students, pay just ten yuan."The National Treasure exhibition continues in Chongqing until June 1st.
