Soong Ching-ling's Qipao Exhibited in Shanghai

Three qipaos, or cheongsams, owned by Soong Ching-ling, a renowned Chinese revolutionary and the wife of Sun Yat-sen, the father of modern China, are on display at an exhibition in the Shanghai Art Museum. Scores of citizens have turned out to get a glimpse of the glamour of the late female legacy.The three dresses were different in both style and material, and have drawn the most attention among the one hundred qipaos on display, Shanghai-based Web site eastoday.com reported.The oldest qipao in the exhibit dates back to the Qing Dynasty, the report said.The museum is also displaying historical photos and documentaries on qipao. The exhibition will run through April 27.
