Chinese film & photo exhibitions tour Africa
The Beijing Olympics have proven the catalyst for a global fascination with learning about China. It's spread all the way through Africa, where Sino-African friendship is already strong.
These are all the work of veteran film maker and photographer Wang Xingjun. He's continuing a personal tour of Africa. At a news conference in South Africa, he screened his internationally-acclaimed film "Full Moon Over Liangzhou." The film recounts the story of how Tibet and China became united. "Full Moon Over Liangzhou" was screened at United Nations Headquarters in New York in 2006.
Wang Xingjun is also a photographer, whose been well known in western China for the past twenty years. His photo exhibition entitled "My Lovely Hometown" is part of the exhibition.
Wang Xingjun's twin exhibitions have toured Kenya and Lesotho. They've created a sensation among local people and overseas Chinese.
The tour continues next into Botswana, Tanzania, and Zambia.
