On June 22, the artist Zhao Bandi opened his Bandi Panda shop in Beijing's 798 Arts District, featuring plush toy panda for sale. The artist, who is known for carrying around a toy panda and featuring it in his art work, is now going to sell a collection of panda toys he designed, featuring Olympic colors. Zhao has protested against the showing of the movie, Kung Fu Panda, saying it exploits a national symbol. He has used the same symbol in fashion shows featuring panda inspired clothing.
