A special exhibition is showing people of Shanghai how their city will look in the near future. At the Shanghai City Planning Museum, visitors are drawn to check out the changes wrought by the coming World Expo, 2010.
Visitors are drawn to a model marking out a prospect of Shanghai in 2010.The layout displays established Shanghai landmarks as well as the World Expo Park and Shanghai Center. The two latter projects are still under construction.
How does one gain easy access to World Expo park? How will the city's heavy traffic move about in a couple of years? A click on the World Expo Comprehensive Transportation Inquiry Station provides quick answers. A digital map lists the nearest railway stations, and provides routes to the Expo site. There are also nearby water transportation links.
A Shanghai resident said, "We used to live in the Luwan district before we moved to the Pudong area. The Expo venue is close by. So we wanted to check this out to see what's happening in the neighborhood."
Films showing photos from previous World Expos are flashed on wide screen displays. Foreign visitors can see plans for their own country's Expo pavilion. Many leave cards as well wishes for their home country and for Shanghai World Expo, 2010.
