Artists from all over the world are celebrating the event in their own ways. The 3rd International Art Biennale is under way in Beijing. It's theme, as you might expect is the Olympics.

More than 700 paintings and sculptures from 81 countries are on show. That's a record for the number of entries at Beijing's Art Biennale.

Entitled "Colors and the Olympic Spirit", all exhibits are closely associated with the Olympic theme.

A sculpture of Pierre De Coubertin, the father of the Modern Olympics, welcomes visitors at the entrance to the exhibition hall.

Many of the pieces on show are inspired by the Beijing Olympics. This painting by artist Xin Dongwang is set against the backdrop of the National Stadium. It depicts the subtle feelings of China's migrant workers as they anticipate the coming of the Games.

The 3rd Beijing International Art Biennale runs throughout the Summer Olympics.
