At present, more and more contemporary sculptors have been emerging in China. The social and cultural characteristics of their works have become more vivid and conspicuous than in any previous period. Their sensitivities towards contemporary culture situation, will cause the change of art conception, media and language mode during art producing. Sometimes, the prosperity and happiness we seek are actually illusory and dangerous, and even exist together with strangeness. This model contains the idea of a strong sense of social criticism. It makes us feel the tragedy and absurdity of life via a funny and interesting inversion relationship. JIng Yumin and Zhao Zhan are talented artist. They hold the exhibition of Twilight World in  Queen Gallery. In this exhibition, their talent reveals everywhere.

This group of Jing Yumin's works, has shown a popular entertainment: lovers are frolicking on the plane, and laughing heartily in cars, etc. This expressive technique is humorous. The sculpt of character is highly exaggerated and full of personalities. Meanwhile, the performance of the works is humorous and free. No political theme is involved. The works look like that a set of easy and humorous game of life plays with symbols. These scenes are absurd but not annoying, because they are only humors of common entertainment. His works are of great tastes and appreciation value. His natural and bold sculpture techniques, together with his smart mode of 'wisdom from clumsiness', shows his high capacity. Moreover, these works have been fired according to Jingdezhen's traditional porcelain producing rules, with works on the scenic landscape. All these result in the fundamental dislocation between traditional and contemporary performance of relationship.

 

Zhao Zhan has stood out from Chinese contemporary youth sculptors. The kind of sharp critical spirit shown in his works is also unique. He combines the thought with the observation of reality, and displays them via works more fully and skillfully. His own situation and confusion are shown just like many slices. These have constituted the meaningful fascination of his series of works. Zhao Zhan is a witness of a generation of youth living. And there is no more world than the virtual one can endow him with this generation's imagination.

The characters in his works 'Twilight Series' are corpulent and look around. The pursuit of unlimited desire has no end. In a world filled with desire, 'vision' is a state, and 'twilight' is a result. When the character in the works is searching for sunlight, thought he is lost in his spiritual world, the sun has always been shining him.

The characters in his works 'Atmospheric clouds' are 'to be like' that the people in the daily lives. When encountering a problem or meet the cross-point of a problem, people are always trying to find a direct answer, and avoid aphasia on the reality. Actually, you always haven't a sense of security. To the author, his works are only a reflection when he faces the reality.
