In Stourbridge U.K. spectators are marveling at the latest creations in glass. It's the International Festival of Glass in the heart of the British West Midlands. The historic town has a reputation for manufacturing fine glass dating back to the early 17th century.

The festival is a celebration of the ongoing tradition. There are exhibitions, demonstrations of the art of glass and even performances.

Natural light streams through a striking wall of glass. It's one of many visual delights dotted around the sculpture garden at the Stourbridge Festival.

The dynamic installations have been created by many international artists. Collectively the works reveal a renaissance in glass as an art medium.

For those inspired to learn more, there is a full programme of live demonstrations by talented glass artists. Continuing the international theme artists from as far away as Australia, Israel and India are showing their distinctive techniques.

Now in its third year, the week-long festival is a colourful immersion into the sparkling world of glass.
