Saatchi Gallery Finds a Home

The Saatchi Gallery will reopen in London on Oct. 9, BBC News reported. The gallery, which will now be located at a larger location in Chelsea, was evicted from its old home in London’s South Bank district in 2005 after a dispute with the building’s owners. A judge upheld a claim made by Shirayama Shokusan, a Japanese company, that the gallery had shown “deliberate disregard” of the owners’ rights. The first exhibition in the new building, “The Revolution Continues: New Art From China,” featuring 30 of China’s leading artists, will run until Jan. 18. The gallery, with the sponsorship of the auction house Phillips de Pury & Company, is making admission to all shows free.
