At the Olympic Green, the folk culture of China is an instant hit. Since the Games' opening Sunday, the wheel chair accessible site has welcomed hundreds of visitors from home and abroad. For those eager to learn more, for an in depth understanding, there are lectures by renowned historians and scholars. The experts will offer insight into the role of Chinese culture in the global arena.
Sunday saw a stage spectacular on the Olympic Green. Titled "Cheers for the Force of Life", featured performers included disabled people from across China. Some are from earthquake ravaged Sichuan province.
There will be ongoing performances through until September 16th.
