Art lovers from all over the world are gathered for this year's Beijing Contemporary Art Fair. It's the third annual Fair, offering an opportunity for collectors and exhibitors to view the latest trends sweeping the art market.
The finishing touches to the annual Beijing Contemporary Art Fair were completed shortly before thousands of visitors began walking through the doors.
Exhibits are spread out over more than 15 thousand square metres. 100 galleries from 20 countries are attending the event.
Among the large pieces of art on show is the "Giant Ape" by Chinese artist Cao Hui.
The "Giant Ape" -- a depiction of a "skinned" primate measures over 4 metres high.
Another local artist, Zhang Dali, is showing his new installation called "Wind/Horse/Flag.
The large piece features a group of life-sized men and women on horseback in patriotic stance, holding the Chinese flag.
Elsewhere visitors can admire more delicate pieces of Chinese contemporary art.
This one-off piece by Li Xiaofeng, is made with hundreds of shards of antique Chinese pottery.
The porcelain dress once was worn by a model. It's on sale for 240,000 yuan or around 35 thousand US dollars.
