The Shanghai Arts Fair rescheduled its usual opening this year to make it coincide with the Shanghai Biennale. Artists from around the world are preparing works for the fair, the 12th annual. The opening ceremony is Tuesday night.

150 galleries were selected to present pieces. A new section focusing on curators and contemporary art has been added to this year's presentation. It feature works of over 30 emerging artists - shown previously in museums but now on sale for the first time.

Exhibits are set up to examine the scope of understanding of modern art. The Arts Fair continues through Saturday at the Shanghai Mart.
