A self-portrait by US photographer Cindy Sherman has sold for 902,500 dollars (626,999 euros). Christie´s auction house say this is the second-highest price ever fetched for Sherman´s work.

The image "Untitled Film Still · 13" shows the artist taking a book from a shelf. It surpassed projections at Christie´s where it was estimated to sell at between 300,000 and 500,000 dollars. In the same sale, the company auctioned a host of "contemporary and post war" works. Art by Robert Rauscheberg, Yves Klein, David Salle, Chris Ofili and Jeff Koons went under the hammer for a total of 6.5 millions dollars (4.6 million euros).
