Contemporary Art Village Opens in Shanghai

A contemporary art village is now open in Shanghai. More than three hundred painters from around the country exhibited their works in the village for the opening.
The Contemporary Art Village in Shanghai's Nanhui district occupies an area of thirty thousand square meters. Painters are displaying their works at the plaza to celebrate the opening of the village. All the paintings are the latest works created by the artists to be based here.
The art village is the biggest to date in Shanghai displaying contemporary art. It will function as a platform for academic exchange, creation, display and marketing of the art works. Over three hundred painters have flocked to the village to exchange their art.
The Shanghai Contemporary Art Village have exempted two-years of rent to the painters, in hopes of attracting more artists to the "village".
