Three men closely connected with the modern Olympic Games have been immortalized as sculptures.
The likenesses of Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympic Games, Juan Antonio Samaranch, honorary president of International Olympic Committee and Jacques Rogge, president of the IOC were unveiled in Beijing recently.
The 195-centimeter full-body sculpture of Coubertin is made of bronze, while busts have been made of Samaranch and Rogge. The three men are facing a sculpture of the Olympic torch.
The sculptures were made by Yuan Xikun -- one of China's most acclaimed sculptors.
During the Beijing Games, Samaranch visited the Jintai Art Museum to unveil his likeness.
