Local residents in Shanghai are expecting a blockbuster exhibition over next week's National Day holiday period. On Monday, the Palace Museum in Beijing sent over some of its most treasured items to the East China metropolis.
The antiques have not yet been unpacked, but organizers kept the press happy by showing off some of the most treasured items. One of them is the imperial seal, which used to symbolize the supreme power of the Qing Dynasty rulers.
Also showcased are a bronze tablet that was a wedding gift for a princess, and a seal made of 10 kilograms of pure gold.
According to the organizers of the exhibition, the show will feature around 170 antiques from the Palace Museum in Beijing. It will run from this Friday until early December.
