The 2008 World Contemporary Photography Biennial is underway in Ji'nan in east China's Shandong province.

Nearly 2,000 photographs by professionals from 45 countries and regions are showcased. Prevailing styles are expressionism and neo-realism. Both are viewed as representing the highest achievements in international photography at present. The event also includes the Shandong Provincial Photo Show and the World Varsity Photo Show.

The exhibition runs concurrently with a lecture series by some of the world's foremost masters of photography.
