China has begun promotions for next year's book fair in Frankfurt, one of the world's largest such events. China will be a guest of honor this time around.

Officials from the General Administration of Press and Publication spoke addressed the world's media at a press conference in Frankfurt. The director of the book fair said the event is a cultural bridge between different continents. He expressed hope for further cooperation and exchanges between Chinese publishers and other countries.

China will hold a series of events to promote the fair in ten German cities, and also to showcase a modern China to the world. A special highlight Chinese writers will be there to meet fans from all over the world.
