Photographers in one of China's most scenic cities are exhibiting works, forming a 30 year retrospective, since China's reform and opening up.

A lot has changed in 30 years, as revealed by the 170 featured works of the 11 photographers. The exhibition is divided by subject matter into 11 different presentations. All the works are considered to be of significant historical journalistic value. Each photograph tells its own story.

The photographers are from diverse backgrounds. Some were laid-off workers. Some are private business owners.

The show has been planned for nearly a year. Several of the best known local authors took part in designing the exhibition.

Organized by the Hangzhou Cultural and Art Association and the Hangzhou Photographers' Association, the event opened Wednesday at the local science museum.

The show will conclude Sunday. An album will be published featuring all the photos in the exhibition.
