The first exhibition of long artistic scrolls closes in Beijing on Tuesday. All of the eighty seven scrolls at the show will then be auctioned.

The scrolls include Chinese traditional painting, calligraphy, oil painting and paper-cutting. The centerpiece is "Mother River" from famous painter Wei Mingyuan. The work, two meters wide and sixty meters long, took Wei three years to complete.

The bidding on the scroll starts at 3.5 million yuan, the highest among the exhibits.
