A fine art exhibition, featuring works in some of the most prominent sculptors from Canada is open in Shanghai.
The works on display are representative of the Western modernism that defined Canada's fine art in the 1960s. Among the seven sculptors featured are such prominent artists as Eric Cameron, Ronald Kostyniuk, and Charles Biederman. All of are considered to have made great contributions to Canada's contemporary fine arts. All are credited for their bold explorations into what are known as neo-Dadaism and neo-constructivism.
One impressive feature shared by the works, is that all were created to involve spectators in the artistic experience. Although most of the the pieces were created some 40 years ago, their charm has sustained well. Even contemporary viewers seem mesmerized by their ingenuity.
The show at the Liu Haisu Fine Arts Gallery is co-organized by the Triangle Gallery of Visual Arts in Calgary. The items showcased are on loan from the Triangle Gallery.
The show will is open to the public free of charge until November 18th.
