The auction of American Paintings at Christie's in New York realized $20,603,350/ £ 13,937,197/ € 16,262,801. The sale included four lots that achieved over $1 million each, and set three new world auction records for American artists Henry Farny, Grant Wood, and John Lewis Krimmel.

Bidders clearly responded to our efforts to set attractive estimates and sensible reserves. This brings to a close a very successful year for American Paintings at Christies, in which we achieved our 3rd highest year ever with $105.1 million in sales.”
