From 2008.12.09 too 2008.12.24 ,Pursuing source and doctrine —— Oil painting research exhibition hold on National Art Museum of China

Sponsored by China Art Research Institute, the oil painting research exhibition invites a large number of artists mostly from China Oil Painting Academy.

The artistic concept of the exhibition is “source” and “doctrine”. The former refers to the source of the painting art and its comprehensive value, and the latter means the artistic spirit and the rule pursued by human beings. In the academic framework, such concept emphasizes further research on the western oil painting system at the starting point of the classic artistic spirit since the Renaissance, the respect to the eternal and harmonious artistic rules and the pursuit of the authentic and esthetic principles and value standards. The exhibition focuses the spirit on the macro value with the core of “the true, the good and the beautiful”, which is particularly important in the modern times with image overflow and standard shortage. The show emphasizes the authenticity of the soul to the objects and the purity of the language identity.

To pursue the diverse values instead of the core value has become fashion in the contemporary time. It is necessary to further establish the system of the core value and rectify the orientation of the main stream value during the social and cultural development. The establishment of the concept is to promote the system establishment in the oil painting art through practical and theoretical efforts and put forward relevant recognition as well as the conscious cultural requirement. The exhibition is hoped to bring substantive knowledge and practical achievements through relevant activities.
