Steven McElroy reports in the New York Times that the Museum of Modern Art has received a grant from the Leon Levy Foundation that will allow the museum to organize and process the institutional records of its affiliated P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center, making the records available for scholarly research and public access. The grant will also finance the creation of oral histories of significant figures closely associated with P.S. 1 over more than thirty years in Long Island City, Queens. The amount of the grant has not yet been announced.

In other news, the Association of International Photography Art Dealers, a nonprofit organization comprising the world’s leading photography art dealers, has announced that Stephen Bulger, of Stephen Bulger Gallery in Toronto, has been elected as AIPAD’s next president. His two-year term will begin on January 1, 2009. “Stephen Bulger has made significant contributions to the photography community for more than fifteen years,” said Robert Klein, current president of the organization. “AIPAD is fortunate to have his experience and vision to lead the organization as the fine art photography market faces both new challenges and growth with the increase of collectors from the contemporary art world.” An AIPAD member for ten years, Stephen Bulger served on the board beginning in 2001 and became first vice president in 2003.
