La Poste, the postal service of France, held the debut ceremony of the Chinese Zodiac commemorative stamp on January 10 at the hall of issuance in the fourth arrondissement of Paris. The stamp marks the Chinese Year of the Ox. It is designed by French (but ethnically Chinese)artist Li Zhongyao and was well-received by French stamp collectors.

La Poste issued the Chinese Zodiac commemorative stamp for the first time in 2005, marking the Chinese year of the Rooster. It had been jointly designed by Li and other French artists. Afterwards, Chinese Zodiac commemorative stamps were issued each year to commemorate the Chinese years of the Dog, the Pig and the Rat.
