The 2,000-year-old army of China’s first emperor drew more than 400,000 visitors in just five months, the High Museum of Art said Monday, making it the second-most attended exhibition in the museum’s history.
Officials with the High said The First Emperor: China’s Terracotta Army, a collection of terracotta soldiers and artifacts from the funerary structure of Emperor Qin, closed Sunday with a sell-out show.
The blockbuster exhibition was a coup for the High, and follows a wave of successes including the museum’s No. 1 attraction, the opening installment of the popular Louvre Atlanta series. The series is a partnership between the High and the Louvre Museum in Paris.
