Discovered in 1974 by a group of Chinese farmers in Shaanxi province, the Terracotta Warriors were originally found in the tomb of China’s first Emperor Emperor, Qin Shi Huangdi. They are said to date back to 210 BC. Some the figures on display in Tunis will include some of the warriors, as well as chariots and horses.
The exhibit marks the celebration of the 50 th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Tunisia and China.
Bronze and jade statues will be exhibited in the museum, as well as jewels of Chinese civilization that will undoubtedly fascinate visitors with their rich materials, beautiful shapes and gorgeous patterns. The exhibit will also offer the Tunisian public the opportunity to discover the wonders of one of China’s most stunning archaeological discoveries.
