If you want to be a famous artist, you could take a page out of Picasso’s notebook. If you want to be an infamous art thief, you could steal the whole thing.
The Art Loss Register said today that a notebook of 33 drawings, worth several million euros, was stolen from the Picasso Museum in Paris on Tuesday. Art thieves really appreciate Picasso, who leads the Art Loss Register with 710 items currently missing, 93 of them walking off in 2008 alone. The group suggests that Picasso’s high visibility and relatively large body of work accounts for his popularity among felons.
