All active arts shall experience much before they have the possibility of forming history. The broad experience makes the artwork open to all kinds of audiences for a period of time after it leaves the artist’s studio. Thus the artwork is engulfed into the whirlpool of reality: it will face other artists and critics’ oppugn and the public’s puzzle feeling, thus it receives baptism and finishes its early experience. Apparently, time and space are two indispensable dimensions of the experience of art life. If we say that the time of experience is the inescapable cycle to judge its life force after the art work opens to the public, we can also say that space is the field domain to judge its life force.

SZ Art Center bears the weight of time and space, the two dimensions of art life. In its 1-year anniversary it is holding a group exhibition of 22 excellent artists who attended its former exhibitions. The exhibition is not only a warm review, but also a creative transfer. It is a review of the deed of SZ Art Center that holds exhibitions, which emphasize the developing trend and document collation of Chinese contemporary art all along. It transfers the golden experience that SZ Art Center has accumulated while it is going by the tide of the developing of contemporary art. In its two dimensions time and space it keeps exhibiting active art forms, exploring and tending towards more effective and positive mode of commerce and promoting.

SZ Art Center chooses the simple verb “Going by” to express its intention that continue the past and open up the future. It wants to share everything of the past and future with the artists in the exhibition calmly in this special period of the developing of Chinese contemporary art. The most joyful thing is that all the artists showed their friendship and tender regards during the preparation of the exhibition. As the famous German artist Gerhard Richter said in his old age that what he disliked most was to attend the busy opening ceremony of his own exhibition, he also said that the artwork on the scene means he is on the scene. It proves a rationale: the exterior jollification is far less attractive than the charm of art life itself.

In my opinion, now in this peaceful art atmosphere, the live charm of these artworks are tested in the two dimensions time and space of the exhibition field of SZ Art Center, thus recurs the charm of contemporary art and the nice time we spent together with the artists.
