Sotheby's will offer a pear-shaped, 29.53 carat, D diamond ring reputed to be internally flawless during its upcoming Important Jewels sale in New York, to be held on October 19, 2009. The rare type IIa stone is flanked by two heart-shaped stones that are 1.35 and 1.51 carats, respectively. The lot has been attributed a presales estimate of $1.8 million to $2.2 million and is set in a decorative platinum mounting.

The ring is from a New York estate collection that also includes jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., David Webb and Bulgari. It will first be exhibited at Sotheby's Hong Kong show from October 2 to 6 and then at a public exhibition in New York, beginning on October 14, culminating in its availability at the Important Jewels auction.
