Sixty-one oil paintings drawn by Chinese contemporary oil painters were showed at the exhibition hall of the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on Tuesday to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
It was the first large-scale Chinese oil painting show held in the DPRK in decades. The works of He Duoling, Yang Feiyun, Wang Xidong, Tan Difu and Sun Weimin, which reflected the authors' thoughts on the society and high praises for lives, demonstrated the attainments of Chinese oil paintings.
The show not only gave the DPRK people the chance to know the good minds and energetic life style of the Chinese people, but also provided a platform for the painters of the two counties to exchange views, Liu Xiaoming, the Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, said at the opening ceremony.
Han Chol, vice minister of culture of the DPRK, vowed to boost bilateral exchanges in the cultural field and to promote the traditional friendship between the two nations.
The show will close on Oct. 5.
